Two farmers suicides in last 48 hours

Chandigarh: In spite of the debt relief scheme being released in Punjab, farmers are not taking the name of suicides. In the last 48 hours, two poor farmers have committed suicide due to debt.
According to the information received, a farmer, Punjab Singh, committed suicide due to financial constraints in Saokek village of Sangrur district. Her brother has also committed suicide. Punjab Singh stranded in a debt trap committed suicide by hanging himself on the farm. The second incident is from Gurdaspur district where farmer Jaswant Singh committed suicide by drinking poisonous medicine. The farmer was the owner of three acres of land and was upset about not withdrawing the debt of seven lakh. To get rid of other problems with debt, he drank poisonous medicine, which led to his death. The police is investigating both cases. After post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to the family members.
