Kangana Ranaut to play 'Revolutionary Leader' in 'Jaya'
New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is preparing to play the role of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in a film. Jayalalitha, who turned actress-turned-politician, died on December 5, 2016 due to heart attack. They are known as 'ancient Thalawi', which means 'revolutionary leader'.

Directed by 'Thawlavi' in Tamil and 'Jaya' in Hindi, the direction of this biopic film is winning one of the top filmmakers of the South films. Vijay has directed films like Madrasapattinam and Daiva Thirumagal.

Kangana said in a statement, "Jayalalitha ji is one of the most successful women of this century. He was a superstar and later became a famous political figure, this is a great theme for the mainstream film. I am honored to be part of this big project.

Vijay said that he understands the responsibility of producing this film and his team will work very carefully and sincerely. Please tell that Jayalalitha has been a great name for Indian politics with the cinema. With the acting of Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films, she was also in the Tamil Nadu CM post from 1991 to the year 2016.

While talking about Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, Kangana had recently worked in the big budget film "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi" on the historical background. Apart from Kangana in the film, Atul Kulkarni, Jishu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Danny and Ankita Lokhande were also important roles. This film was based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi.
