ICC World Cup: Vijay Shankar injured after Shikhar Dhawan, Team India has options

New Delhi: In the ICC Cricket World Cup (World Cup 2019) injury is taking India's test. Three players have been injured one after another. Shikhar Dhawan has been out of the whole world cup. Bhubaneswar Kumar (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) is under the supervision of physio. They rarely get the game in June. Now after these two, Vijay Shankar too has been hurt by his thumb. He did not participate in training session on Thursday due to injury. Nothing has been said about the BCCI or the management of the team management whether they will now play the next game or not. India's next match is to be held on Saturday from Afghanistan.

All-rounder Vijay Shankar has played just one match in the World Cup. He took two wickets in this important match against Pakistan and scored 15 runs. Vijay Shankar has been selected as a batting all-rounder in the team. It was said at the time of selection that he would play on number 4, who also recognized the weak link of the Indian team. In the first two matches of the World Cup, KL Rahul was replaced at number four with Vijay Shankar instead. Rahul has got good batting. It seems that the problem of number-4 has been solved.

Against Australia, Opener Shikhar Dhawan was injured and in the next match Rahul had to take responsibility for opening. Then Vijay Shankar's entry into the playing eleven. However, in that match he batted at number-6. Vijay Shankar performed well in that match. Now his injury has raised the problem of India again.

If we talk about the next match, if Vijay Shankar does not play then India will have to choose the playing XI from 13 players. Because Bhuvaneshwar is already injured. In this case, instead of Vijay Shankar, Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are the claimants for the place in the playing eleven. Rishabh Pant's stance looks great in both of these.

 If Vijay Shankar's injury is serious and if he is out of the World Cup, then the board will have to select a specialist fast bowler or all-rounder who is capable of fast bowling. That's because India's current team has only three fit fast bowlers (Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya). In such a situation, if any of these fast bowlers hurt, then India will have only two fast bowlers. Bhubaneswar has been told that he will not play next three matches. The next three matches of India are on 22, 27 and 30 June.
